Bedford Hills (1 of 3 hamlets in the Town of Bedford) was known long ago as Bedford Station when the area's first railroad station was built there in 1847. The hamlet is currently the seat of government for the Town of Bedford. While the town still has beautiful houses and countryside, it is also closer to the train station and commercial outlets. Running from Bedford Hills to Mount Kisco is Route 117, which has a wide variety of stores, restaurants and businesses. As opposed to many of the more rural areas of our market, Bedford Hills has easy access to a wide variety of commercial establishments.
The hamlet is very diverse, having both smaller houses around the town, as well as large estates within a half mile. The Center of town is Depot Square, by the train station, and is a constant bustle of activity, especially during train departure times.
